Church duties!

Well, not exactly DUTIES... But today after school i went home to a girl and with some of her friends (not from my school but my church). I was there because they "needed my help" to design flyers for the church :)
This was planned last Sunday at the church.

They served tacos (i think?) with fish. D-e-licious! It was really fun to be together with the three girls like that. We had fun designing the flyer even though it took more than 40 minutes! We talked a lot and it was just great :)

At school today I did well in my art classes! :)
In drawing and painting I finished drawing another skull, IN PEN! I was the first to get finished!
In photography we waited for a teacher that never came, so we just chilled the whole time ^^
In Digital media (!) we had to edit 3 pictures. By the end of the class I was finished and the other "advanced" kids weren't even done with their first :D

I really love my art classes ^^

Milk products

Today Martha and I went to shop. America have like... 100 different kinds of jello and yogurt O.O Just look at this aisle... 

What I'm most excited about is the BEN & JERRY ICE CREAM!! Look at all those flavors! And it's like $4 that's just around 20 Kr :O

I'm going to buy one soon I'm telling you O.O

Arrested!!

Just kidding! But I did get to try and sit in a police car today :) There was a STS meeting today and we talked with policemen about the law and stuff. Then we could take pictures at their car :)

We also talked about other things but it was mostly stuff that we could't do :/ We got to ask the policemen questions about what we should do in a situation, that was good.

I don't know all the names yet, but the only ones I know right now is: 

The blond boy in the white t-shirt, Emil. It was him I traveled with to Colorado :) 

Then the blond girl with the striped shirt on, Luiza. She is from Switzerland and we go to the same school :)

After the meeting we went to a pool and swam a little. I took a quick dive in and then played volleyball with the other teens :) 

Next to the volleyball court some found a dead rat :/ when they called the life guards so the could take care of the problem they found out that it was a hurt baby squirrel :( 

Apart from that today was really great. I had a lot of fun playing volley, to bad it's too late to join the volleyball team on my school. They have like, 30 girls and have trouble teaching all of them.

American Lifestyle

Guess what. I just weighted myself this morning and with a surprising result.
Instead of gaining weight like most people would think, I've actually lost 7 pounds! :O

Brighton

So last Wednesday (wonderful right?) I met a guy - Greg.
Weeeeell... Today we went out and he showed me around Brighton :] He lives like this awesome life doing the thing he like the most, which is music.
He showed me all these kind of great music and I just realized that I missed out... On a lot. He says that he's going to give me some real music :)
We went to Starbucks and we got this chai tea which was REALLY good! Then we went to the movies and saw the new Harry Potter movie. Now I'm finally done with that phew! That was a long movie...

Anyway today was good. I'm starting to get accustomed to school life and just life in America :) Life's great, hope you guys out there are great too :)

Wooonderful Wednesday evening! Not so great a morning...

Well today on our way to school Martha and I had to stop. Our tire? completely flat. Two pieces of iron stuck in it :/ I had to call my school and tell them I'd get late in... Luckily I came at a good time so I don't think I missed anything :)

Spaghetti, spicy meatballs and garlic bread! *italian accent* (you can do that right? accent?)

This evening was wonderful Wednesday and I helped out in the kitchen(!) It was really great because this old man was there, he was the one making the food. He was so funny and happy all the time :)

I'm not gonna say anymore right now because i just realized...
I have SO much homework due to tomorrow!!! D:

Humana meeting

Today Martha and I went to a Humana meeting at a steakhouse where we also had dinner (pictures of that next page). The food was good.
Humana is something, I think, about insurance. Anyways I spent my time doing this:

PICNIC!

Today i went to church! I wanted to talk to Chris but he wasn't there him so that just sucked :/ Oh well, better luck next time.
I took some pictures of the church since I didn't bring my camera last time :)

AFTER church we went to a picnic arranged by the church :) It was really hot so I was glad there was some shade!

The food was fried chicken (from the church people) desserts and side dishes. The side dishes and desserts was made by the other people who came to the picnic. Martha and I bought a cake in King Soopers and some potato salad. Wow there was a lot of potato salad! Around 2/3 of the side dishes was potato salad :O

It was a nice day :) I had fun. I also talked to a girl named Julie and we agreed that I HAD to watch:

It was only when I talked to her that I really understood just how many movies I've missed out on. All the classics! Looks like she's going to arrange a movie marathon so I can watch 'em all O.O

Wash day

Yeah i should not go around in the same clothes every day for the next 10 months right? So today i did MY OWN laundry! :O Surprisingly easy.... Well, Martha did half the job sooo. Yeah.

First school-week update

Wow. So far school has been great. Not that much homework but that is going to change soon :( 

But i have 3 art classes which means: no real homework! Amaaazing, and this is all thanks to Ms. Meyer (*cough* my new favorite teacher *cough*) 

Ms. Meyer

This is my current schedule:

• American lit and comp.

• Beginning drawing and painting

• LUNCH!!! :D

• Anatomy and Physiology
• Digital media

My Anatomy and Physiology class was a bit boring in the beginning, mostly because we was getting the basics down, but now it's starting to get interesting.
Digital media is my FAVORITE class! It is so fun to do Photoshop :) I even consider buying it for my own computer :)

Kohl's

After school toady, Martha and I went to Kohl's. I swear this store is just so great! We had some days prior received some cards that would give us 30% off. We actually got a lot of those.
Aaanyways all those %'s together got the original price ($128) down to $52!!! :O Just amazing!

On or way home I just had to take a picture of this. I DO live next to subway x) I haven't been there yet but i probably won't go there. Fat food... Really, the American lifestyle have opened my eyes O.O I'm so glad Martha go after the healthy stuff. She even looks after artificial colors and flavors.

Piano

Martha don't just have a piano. She has a piano that can play by itself!!! :O
You put a scroll in the piano and then it'll play it :O

I'm so glad that I can continue to play the piano here. Maybe I'll learn some new songs :)
The school doesn't offer any music lessons, so it's back to self tutoring :P

Worst first day in school EVER!

Just kidding, it went good.
Wow, there was many students in the hallways! And I (FINALLY) know how to open my locker.

First the bad news...: 
I have to buy ALL my school materials. pencils, notebooks, sketchbooks etc.
having photography as a subject will cost $250 for materials. minimum!
I walked in the wrong classroom 3 times. 2 times it was the same class!
I missed one class, but that was totally my teachers fault! She took the responsibility for it!
The one teacher I have in most classes is nuts!

Now the good news...:
I have the 3 most awesome classes; digital media, anatomy and physiology and drawing and painting!
I had double lunch because my teacher made a mistake!
The teacher I have in most classes is nuts! Just like me! :'D
I'm not the only exchange student on the school. There is another one!
The food is really cheap!

This is a picture of one of my classrooms. I have classes (hopefully) here two times a day. I really believe that it will become my favorite place to be. Miss Meyer (the crazy teacher!) says is okay to drink in class and she plays music in class! :D

First day at church!

Today i went to church (no pictures >.<).
It was... Different. It was actually kinda cool. It didn't feel as long time as it would in a danish church but i think it took just as long.
Everybody was very nice and asked me questions about myself and where I was from. I also talked with a guy named Chris, he was a sophomore in college. He moved out a little while ago and just recently his roommate became a dad! The mom is in her last year of high school... this feels just like the series on MTV...

So i have a great plan i made myself.
The church have a nursery. Parents bring their smallest children here and pick them up after the worship (gudstjeneste). So I thought that i could volunteer to be in the nursery instead of going to church, it's kinda like baby-sitting for 1 hour but I really want to!

So I have to talk to someone within this week to figure out if I can. The other said that it wouldn't be a problem so I'm very excited! Tomorrow is first day at school! I can't wait to start!

Market day

YAY! market day! :D 

Today i went to the market. It was mostly vegetables that were sold. the local farmers came and sold their stuff. Martha and I bought 1 red pepper and some corn.

So, since I didn't get a chance to bring my camera last night I went to the Armory again today and took the pictures! The first one is my favorite. The second is my next favorite and.... You know the rest. 

The third wasn't really a painting. It was Japanese embroidery, it is said that it takes months to make... Talk about patience...  

The fourth painting i thought was funny because the frame had a net over it :) I thought it was a fun detail.  

So at the market today there was a scavenger hunt. It was okay. I had to go around the booths and fill in a paper. Then i would get a sticker and could go on to the next one. The price was a little bag with some different things in it.

So... The place you see under here in inside The Armory. Basically it is a hall like this with a stage. The stage is used for both concerts and plays.

Sean (the guy in charge of everything I told you about last time) gave me the "Royal tour". He showed me almost ALL of The Armory. He showed me backstage where the singers/actors would change and he showed me the basement, all the electronics and the systems. It was a really great tour and the place was amazing. I'm glad he showed me :)

Art display

Today I was at The Armory in Brighton with Martha. There was an reception for the opening of the new display with art made by people over 55 years. I didn't bring my camera (that sucked) but I'll probably take some  pictures tomorrow of it.
There is going to be a market day the same place and The Armory is open i think.

After watching the art i talked with a guy that worked at the place. He was in charge of almost everything! sound, lights, music, computers and probably more! He was very sweet and told me a lot of things about Brighton and places I could visit in Denver. I hope to talk to him tomorrow if we go.

Anyways asked me if I wanted something to drink and offered me a Mountain dew. I said yes please and after some talking he talked me into trying Dr. Pepper. So i guess I'll be trying that in a few days soon :) I'm curious because he said that it reminds of cola but only sweeter. Well better try first.

School registration

So today i went to the school with Martha. I'm going to Eagle Ridge Academy and i'm going to be in 11th grade :) I got the two subjects i wanted the most: Anatomy and physiology and Drawing and painting! This is gonna be so great, but the math class looks kinda hard. I'm going to take the easiest class which only has freshmen in it, so it'll probably be weird :/

So here i was; chilling in the cafeteria with a mountain dew and my new schedule! I'm probably going to drink that drink everyday, sooo good! NOT, I'm kidding. I've got to watch the figure! not gonna end up like my mother did (sorry mom!)

Martha and I also went to Kohl's. It's this big clothes store. It also has jewelry, purses and other stuff. I think I'll shop there often. The clothes is pretty great and... normal prices :)
I Also went to King Soopers and Walmart. These stores makes super markets in Denmark look like small shops :/ They were really big and I got confused just by stepping into the store!

And this is the little dog Bubbels! He just got a haircut today :) he was the puddle-something else mix i wrote about last time :) We picked him up at a BIG pet store.

Anja if you are reading this; see the picture of the guinea pig cages! It has purple... hay? i don't know what it is called, but it has a nice color!

While I was unpacking this little fellow wanted to come along so I had to put a picture in of her. 

She's a Siamese cat and have very beautiful blue eyes. She have a friend in the house too, he is a black Angora and have green eyes. He have very long hair so there is already hair all over my computer! 

There is also a dog in the house but pictures will have to be up later. You'll love this one, he is a breed between a puddle and something else. He is energetic and jumps all around the place!

Old people

From now on I shall only speak and write the native language! >:D

So right now I am at a Senior Center. It's a place where older people come and talk, exercise and other stuf together. I just had my first "real" meal and you can check that out on the other page later when i have pictures up :)

So far it's nice here. It's very hot so i have to get used to that.
My school! Oh my god, I haven't been registered for school yet and I have to do that with Martha soon. I know now that i'm going to get in 11th grade so no graduation for me :(

Puha!

Føj hvor jeg sveder! hvorfor? fordi jeg lige har pakket min kuffert!
Den vejede ikke mindre end 35 kilo... Så ja min mor syntes det ville være bedst at købe en ektra "kuffertbillet". Nu kan jeg tage alle mine 35 kilo med og tage næsten 46 med hjem igen! God deal ;)

Jeg rejser i morgen og jeg er virkelig spændt. Det gik først op for mig at jeg skulle afsted da jeg stod nervøst og så min mor veje min kuffert. Nervøs kommer jeg til at blive. Jeg skal op meget, MEGET tidligt og kommer sikkert sent, SENT i seng på grund af de sommerfugle i maven!
Næste gang jeg opdaterer bliver det i Usa, Colorado, Lochbuie!!!

Farvel fest!

Så har ikke mindre end 50 personer været forbi mit hus og sagt farvel til mig! Det blev til en stor fest og jeg er glad for at mine forældre ville holde sådan én!

Nu er der kun 2 dage til jeg skal rejse. Jeg har fundet ud af at jeg skal rejse klokken 6.... om morgenen >.<
Min rejse kommer til at tage 21 timer hvis alt går, som planlagt. Jeg håber ikke at jeg kommer til at miste et fly, jeg ville jo få et nervøst anfald!

I hvert fald; jeg begynder at pakke i morgen. Jep. Min kuffert er ikke pakket og det bliver et STOOORT arbejde. Jeg hader at pakke *dybt suk*...
