Field triiiiip!

Tomorrow I am going on a field trip to Denver Museum of performing arts to see a Shakespeare play.
I'm not exactly sure what it is all about because I got a "last-minute" permission slip about it and I was actually not supposed to go on the trip.

You see, one cannot go on the trip if you have 2 D's or more in your grades. Apparently a lot of people are failing because there was 50 (?) empty seats for the trip.
Ms. Nelson (I don't have a class with her) who is arranging the trip asked my English teacher Ms. Stringer if she had students in her class that would like to go on the trip.
Guess what? I think you already did, but I'm gonna tell you anyways: Ms Stringer told her "Why not Ida? I think she would like  to go!"

Happiness! Not only do I get to see a play I get off from school for a day! Well kinda...

Anyway, I can't wait for this trip. You can't wear jeans, t-shirt or sneakers so... It's gonna be interesting...

New after school activity!

Ms. Meyer the art teacher (do I really have to point it out anymore? It's not like you don't hear about her all the time :P) is having an after school activity that I will participate in every Wednesday.
Let's just say it like this; I'll be needing sweat pants and a exercise mat. I'll be doing yoga!

Yup, every Wednesday from now on I'll be doing yoga at the school for 45 minutes :)

I'm really excited about this, it's both something new for me and different. I'm used to "hard working" sports like handball and karate and now I'll be doing stretches for 45 minutes... Different...

Anyways... I'm also baking my RAINBOW cupcakes tomorrow. I've got all the ingredients ready; white cake mix (who knew you could get white cake mix...), food coloring and frosting.
Frosting won't be as good as the homemade frosting my sister do, but it'll have to do.

Mural!

Yes, yes, yes! I already talked to my mom about something like this to do when I come home but THIS is absolutely awesome!
In my independent art we have to do a total of 5 projects. I'm doing one right now which is a painting of a butterfly. I'm also going to do a batik later as you may know.

But my NEXT project will (hopefully, ,if I get the thumbs up from ms. Meyer) be a mural.
A mural you ask?
To describe it short it is a painting on a wall. Ms. Meyer said that if I came up with a good proposition she would find a wall for me... At the school!
What better way to leave your only year of high school by leaving your art forever on a wall, for every one to see?

I felt like I had something else to say...

Thursday! On Thursday I'm going to bake something for a bake sale at the school. Guess what? I'm gonna make it easy for you: it have 7 different colors and it a cupcake...

Happy birthday to me!

Since today is a Tuesday, and I have karate today, we celebrated my birthday with the family this Sunday. We went to Red Lobster (Thank you Ca! That was a very good recommendation!) and after that we went to the movies and watched "We bought a Zoo" which was an awesome movie!

Today I was celebrated at the school too! Alex decorated my locker with wrapping paper and at lunch we had a cake!
I will let some of the pictures talk for themselves but some you need to hear a story behind!

Alex of course couldn't help herself and threw cake frosting in my face. I couldn't help myself either and it ended up with her getting frosting in her hair. Unfortunately Aaron got caught in  the battle and got frosting in his ear... Poor Aaron had Meghan cleaning it up for him. 

You know, even though it wasn't anything big at school (we lit the candles and blew out the candles in a classroom and Meghan, Aaron, Alex, Cassie and a teacher was there) it was more than enough for me. Meghan, Alex and Aaron have had a big fight/ignoring battle since early December and at my birthday they were gathered and together like real friends should be. It was by no means luxurious but it was great because I was with my friends. No more could I ask for :)

Oh well, I'm going to karate soon. They celebrate birthdays by hitting you with their belts and I've already had my turn this Sunday so... I've got one more spanking coming! (it's not really bad, it's actually pretty funny.)

Hybrid day... Again!

Yeah no news so far. I have hybrid day and I'm working from home, trying to get the work done as fast as possible. I'm just glad that it's been easy so far.

Right now I'm reading and analyzing the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe. It's a big a** long poem that took 8-9 minutes to listen to on YouTube. It's supposed to be Gothic and horrific and it lead many people to get nightmares when they read it. So far it hasn't been that disturbing to me. Guess that the older generation were easier to scare.

Yesterday I had a moment. That moment when you think you're in trouble but you're not... 

I lost ms. Meyer's flash drive with all her documents on... We were in the computer room and I have no idea where I put it. We tore the room apart (figuratively) and didn't find it. Somebody must have taken it. 

Any way she said that it's not my fault but next time I should remember stuff like that. I'm her Brain she told me (that part did make me feel good though).

This girl wanted to take independent art and ms. Meyer told her no, she was not experienced enough even though she had art classes last semester. 

That felt good too. Because I took classes last semester and I got to take independent art. My bet is that the girl probably has more experience than me!

Well that was just a quick update. I'll go back to my work now!

National Art and Honor Soceity

... Also known as NAHS have a meeting tomorrow at the school at 7 am. It's a part of being in Independent art and I'm going to be a part of that meeting. It'll be interesting and I'm excited to get there (not so much getting up in the morning though).

That is also why I have to go to bed early so this will be a very quick update.

In independent art I'm getting ready to do this project. 1 out of 5 (!) and it will be a batik. This picture will get you an idea of how a batik look like:

Right now I'm doing a test - after all it my first ever batik - so I'll start my project a little later. Maybe next next week? 

Being a TA is fun. The class is fun and even funnier to teach. You can get the work done quicker too. I think we got more done in 2 classes than we did last semester. I would even say that it went double as fast because I was there to help so that people knew what to do, instead of miss Meyer using more time to help more people... Right?

Anyway I'm going to bed now.

First day of new semester!

So yesterday was the first day of not only the new semester but also the new year.
I was very excited to start 3 new classes. I won't be changing classrooms this year, but I'll still have new classes.

My 3rd period will be Advanced drawing and painting, this semester we will be doing a lot of painting(!).
My 4th period will be independent art, which will be really hard!

And in my 7th period I just started as a teachers aide. We are starting the same stuff we did last year, so my opinion will be important when Ms. Meyer ask for input. Yesterday was mostly boring because we didn't really learn anything and the next few weeks will be boring too. I can't wait to the good part starts aka. the projects.

So yeah, the semester will be hard but interesting. I'm really glad that I have art classes as I feel like I have a lot of artistic "urges" I need to get out with! I want to paint more and just create something by myself.

New Years eve!

Of course you all want to know about my new years right? Okay it wasn't like we usually do but it was different and new :)

Me and Alex started out with watching a movie in the cinema. It was breaking dawn (Finally Emma right?) and it was super awesome, still lacked some things from the book which I was kinda disappointed about but otherwise it was good. We watched it together with Alyssa and her cousin.

After that we went out to eat with a lot of Cathy's friends. Nothing big, it was a pot lock so it was all homemade (no objections from here!). After that we went home. We decided to play ping-pong (table tennis) and did that for about an hour or so. Then we all sat down and played a card game Shanghai until it was near midnight. 

When it was 11:59:59 I jumped into the new year. A second to early according to Jeff but I did it :) 

Aaafter that we finished our card game (1½ hours later...) and went to bed :) 

It was hard to get back to a normal sleeping pattern but I think it was okay. I just stayed up the whole night the day before school and now I'm back to normal! I even got 2 more hours of sleep than I normally do! 

So that was it. I'll have a update about first school day (today) later.
