100th post!

What a better way to celebrate my 100th post and Valentines day than by the "news" of my karate tournament? It's kind of old news if you use facebook but if not: I went to a karate tournament on the 11th and won two medals! I got 1 bronze and 1 gold. I told my dad; I didn't really feel like I deserved the gold medal since I really didn't win anything, but since I did go up from "age 16-17 medium division" to "age 18-34 hard division" they judges at the tournament told me that yes. Yes I deserved the gold medal. It was kind of nice and I guess I did do well on my kata (I was the only one at the tournament with my style, so my kata was kind of unique!).
Right now the medals are hanging on my wall and shines brightly (the gold behind the bronze...).

And hey! Valentines is big here right?
Not really. It's not like they were making big proposals with ballerinas and white horses, but they did do some pretty cookies at the bake sale (see the one I bought in "Maden")

Actually the money from this bake sale is going to the sclerosis fund. They do many kinds of fundraisers at this school :)
(by the way; we made $120 by selling flowers!)

I got 6 flowers for Valentines (someone messed up because I got 1 too many) and I put them in my room. After I came home from karate I could smell them in my room, the red paper flowers smell like roses and the pink smell like jasmin :)

I guess that's all for now. I'll be uploading some things to "Mine værker" soon (like in 5 minutes) so be sure to check those! I'm pretty proud of the human skull I did!

Picture time!

I felt like it was about time to upload some photos so here you go! A glint of my life here :D

It's still been dark in the morning lately but by 6:50-ish (the time we leave for the bus) the sky looks like this. It changes every day, sometimes it's pink other times it a pretty blue like this. I just like this picture because it is a bit of both :)

This is here the magic happens! At least when we are developing photography, it's weird to see this yet not be able to take photos anymore. Since I switched out my photography class with independent art I don't take anymore pictures. I can of course take a picture as a project, I think it would be a good idea to do that. It doesn't take more than a few weeks compared to a month long project it normally takes to do a painting or something else :)

This Valentines day Independent art is selling flowers. Paper flowers. Today was our last day that we sold them. They way it works:
You order a flower to be brought out to your Valentine/friend and pay $1,50 for each flower. A school leader ordered 21 flowers for all the female staff members today... That was about $30 right in our pockets...
Anyway, I bought a flower for; Aaron, Alex, Meghan, Kaitlin and Sophie (Sophie is the girl from Germany :)

That was all for now. My karate tournament is tomorrow. I'm getting so nervous and pumped up! I have to be at the dojo by 7 am so I'm going to bed now. Good idea right? I don't want to fall asleep during a match, that would both be embarrassing and painful :O

Goodnight! (or good morning for you right?)

Karate Cup

On Febuary 11th I'm going to compete in a karate tournament, right now I am filling out a form and this question came up that I haven't known about myself for more than 3 months...

So that's why I am going up on the scale today. I am going the see what my weight is...

It's scary... Really. Let's hope that extra practice kept my weight down, and that all the good food haven't gained on me!

Phew... Oh, well that's all. A little update. I have hybrid day today so I am home in my pajamas. I'm not planning to get dressed ALL day! Boyah! >:D

The taming of the shrew

For my first "real" theater show I would say that this one was good. There was humor, old-fashioned language and fashion from the 60's.

The play was modified into a more... Modern look. I was surprised at the show mostly because they had changed the lines and made the play into a humor/drama.
Here is a link to the show we saw: http://www.denvercenter.org/shows-and-events/Shows/thetamingoftheshrew/Home.aspx
Very satisfied, very surprised. I can only say that I will go to more plays in the future. Maybe not here, maybe when I get back to Denmark again ;)

Ok, so I know my mother knows this but I recently (4 days ago, Sunday) hurt my knee pretty bad. I'm pretty sure no bones are fractured but the knee is swollen and it hurt when I bend it. So far I've missed 1 karate class and yoga today :(
Right now I have ice on it, which should help with the swolleness (it's a word because I said so).
A friend of mine told me she had experienced the same thing or something similar and that it would take a week or so to heal, so that's always good news :)

Well so far everything been good. I get good enough grades and making more friends so that is good. Yup.
